Accessibility at the Mansion
The Mansion at Glen Cove is a historic building that, unfortunately, has parts that are not accessible for people with limited mobility. Attendees will need to climb stairs to get to some of the spaces. Although many activities will take places on the first floor, a portion of meeting spaces are upstairs.

The Society seriously considered this limitation, but unfortuntely could not find an accommodation. The previous meeting location (Asilomar) was technically considered accessible, but also had less than ideal options for those with limited mobility. We are happy to discuss the limitations with anybody with concerns.
How to get to the Mansion
Airports
The Mansion at Glen Cove is close to New York City, on Long Island. If you are flying in, we recommend that you either fly in to LaGuardia (LGA) or JFK airport. If you fly in to Newark (EWR), you will have to pass through New York City first on the way to the site. LGA and JFK are both on Long Island.

Ground Transport by Car
From LGA: Taxi or rideshare will take 35-60 min.
From JFK: Taxi or rideshare will take 40-70 min.
There is free parking at the Mansion, so if you have your own car or rental, you can drive yourself.

Ground Transport by Regional Buses or Trains
Take regional train lines or buses to New York Penn Station, then you can use the subway (MTA) to get to Jamaica station and follow the local public transit instructions from there.

Ground Transport by Local Public Transit
If you simply search on Google Maps, you will not get a transit route. However, you can use public transit. When using Google Maps, put your destination as "Glen Cove Station" rather than the address of the Mansion. It is then 1.8 miles from the station to the Mansion. If you are ambitious, you could then walk the 1.8 miles, or you can take a taxi or rideshare from there. ​

From LGA:

Take the Q70 LaGuardia Link bus, non-stop to Roosevelt Ave/74th St.

Walk three minutes to get to the MTA E train toward Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer. Ride it for four stops and get off at Sutphin Blvd Archer Av JFK Airport.

Walk about three minutes to get to the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) at Jamaica Station. Take the green line toward Oyster Bay, and get off after nine stops at Glen Cove.

You will now be 1.8 miles from the Mansion at Glen Cove.

Food
During registration, please indicate any dietary restrictions and preferences. The conference organizers will be working with the staff at the Mansion to create a custom menu for the conference. You will be served buffet style for breakfast, lunch and dinner and will be provided coffee and snacks during breaks. We will have bartenders serving post-dinner drinks (both alcholic an non-alcoholic) at a cash bar every evening.
